Why Have a Video Trailer for an eBook?
Why not have one?
It's a great book! It deserves it's own trailer, its own dressing room -- its name in lights...
Actually, the trailer came about by accident. I had some students out for a photo shoot. I needed over 200 photos for the new eBook, 10 Days to Better Knife Fighting.
After the second session, my photographer, Lee Asher, and I started playing around with some of the extra photos.
With Lee's technical expertise and creative support, we crafted a mini-movie -- almost like a preview or trailer for a feature film. I had become jazzed by his magic video demonstrations and trailers. (By the way, if you are into magic, check out his site at LeeAsher.com .)
I saw that the video previews of his magic manuscripts, tapes, and DVDs lent class to his web site. For me -- I just wanted to play around. Maybe make a glorified slide show of a couple of the knife fighting techniques presented in the eBook 10 Days to Better Knife Fighting.
Lee and I combined digitally sampled snippets, extended some, shortened others, and finally added some background noise.
What do you do with a 44 second video promoting a knife-fighting ebook?
You show it to your martial arts newsletter subscribers.
They were intrigued enough that they expressed their eagerness for me to finish the eBook. Now, 10 Days to Better Knife Fighting is completed -- along with two vasluable bonuses.
But first, take a look at the preview...
